She sits elegantly... eyes faced toward the sun, when you approach her. She is full lion, and you ask her
" I need your help" She turns at you, and grins a human smile. She is the sphinx, she asks " Of course, But you'll need to answer my riddle first"
Sphinx are said to have existed even before the Pandora's box was opened. They hardly call themselves aligned with
Kharena- as they find they do not have the judgment in which to pick a side - however they do often fight on the side of Kharena, only in honor of their friends the Akai'Ra who are still commonly enslaved by the Rahmians.
A B O U T S P H I N X
Sphinx are incredibly wise beings, and often guard the gateways to the underworld, of which none have been able to pass.
Sphinx who are not busy guarding the underworld are often roaming the jungles and deserts in search of better things, or trying to get away from the ever growing civilizations of man. They are extremely dark creatures though - despite their amount of knowledge and wisdom, and find joy in tearing apart human individuals. Perhaps this is because they consider human kind an infestation on the Insula Deorem.
Legend says that they can answer any question that you ask. They can help you find lost things, teach you how to capture an Akai 'Ra, almost anything you demand. But you must answer a riddle of their choosing- and if you don't you might find yourself subject to one of their many tortures.
Sphinx have been known to be born of both Rahmian and Kharenian Culture, and Live in both areas, however, a higher concentration of them is found in the jungles and oasis of Kharena.

When applying for a Sphinx character, please keep in mind what you have read above.
While there will be deviations to the above ( ex: Sphinx that are extremely calm ) most Sphinx will follow
a good percentage of these guidelines. If you are unsure if you are allowed to add something or
make something odd about your character. Comment on this journal. One of our Founders will respond quickly.
Here are some extra things to know before you go ahead and make your application.
B r e e d i n g
Sphinx may only breed with other sphinx. while they are known to take on Anubis lovers on
some occasions they can never bear the child of any other species. Often Relationships
of Sphinx and another race do not last long. Otherwise, Sphinx generally mate for life.

Most of the Sphinx are lions. However,
other than lions only one of each cat species shall be made.
That means if someone makes a jaguar sphinx - no one else
can make a jaguar sphinx. Anyone can make a lion sphinx.

To level up your character, you must complete rank objectives.
Within each level you can complete each rank in any order. Please
don't move on to objectives outside of your level. Rank objectives can
be done through art (preferred), story, or role play.
If done through Role play, you need to paste the RP scene into a word document and
upload it as you would a story. Here are your objectives! Remember to keep track
of your character's points and level in the artists comment's section of your application.

2) Sphinx come in many different coats and colors, are you happy with your skin?
3) You carry in your soul a piece of the underworld- a darkness that you may or may not be able control - how does this influence your actions?

1) Some one much misguided stumbles into your territory, do you spare them? Give them a chance at a riddle? Or Maul them on the spot?
2) Sphinx are said to have a hull of information, they can tell you about the past, and even the future, about someone on the other side of the world - what are your personal limits?
3) Two of your kind rarely come across one another. Have you ever met another sphinx? In the case that you did - were they in your territory? Did you accidentally stubble upon theirs?
4) The war is ruining the world - slowly but surely. How does this effect you personally? Have you chosen to help a side?
